Early voting could be critical to election
Early voting is not a good thing in this election, in my opinion, whether you support Kerry or Bush.
In Iowa, voters may start casting ballots NOW - a full week before the first presidential debate. Think of how much could happen in the next 38 days. Voters may find out that Kerry is a cross dresser or Bush is banging Condi. You just never know what could happen between now and election day. Seriously.
I've always been a proponent of early voting, absentee voting, etc. But, I believe it ought to be limited to a smaller window of time before the election - maybe a week before election day. But, now, I'm not even sure if I prescribe to that. Mark Davis on WBAP has ALWAYS touted that early voting is bad and I always thought he was full of shit. Now, I think he may be on to something. This isn't because I believe it will hurt my candidate, but I don't think it will help him either.
I just don't like this concept of voting more than a month before the election. So much can happen. I understand military voters are a different issue because of deployments and people who work overseas, etc. There isn't a good way to handle those, but people who are fully capable of voting on Election Day - just go to the polls, otherwise you may regret your choice later and in elections there are no do-overs.

I like the exorcist comparison.
And, you're right about him changing what he says from one day to the next. I'm interested to hear the debates and see if he can find a stance and stick with it.
But, I am genuinely concerned for both sides of the fence when it comes to early voting. You know? We may find out that Kerry is a secret conservative and holds our own views sacrosanct and that Bush likes to play the ponies or something. I dunno. Whatever could come out, could make a big difference.
You know, when Bush pulls out the secret capture of Osama Bin Laden *note the sarcasm* all those undecideds may swing our way, so we don't need to them early voting.
