Texas-OU weekend
This weekend is the Red River shoot-out, but we won't be here to be a part of all the excitement. We're just hoping not to get stuck in the traffic. Pretty much any way out of our look nook of North Texas puts us on a major interstate coming from Oklahoma and there were be more Sooners than I can stomach on our highways. A recent trip to the Wal-Mart along I-35 in a neighboring town and EVERYTHING in there was UT burnt orange. There were plates and plastic tumblers, children's outfits, chairs, flags, etc, etc. Took me a few moments for it to dawn on me why everything was Longhorn orange.
Shhhhh!!! If I have to take a side, my loyalties lie with my native state ... Go Longhorns. You won't hear me say that TOO many times, but this is a rare once-a-year occasion.
I love this story from the Kansas City Star about the game.

I almost never root against the homestate team...unless its A&M who I always root against...but my niece goes to OU and for the next few years I am rooting for OU over the Longhorns...it hurts, but that I must keep it in the family!

Well, we can root for Texas all we want, but I am pretty sure that OU is going to beat us again. Don't get me wrong, you cut me and I bleed orange but we just can't manage to beat those guys lately. Like Mack said, it's his fault.
