Andrea Yates conviction overturned
If any poor soul deserved to be put out of her misery, it has to be Andrea Yates.
Her conviction was overturned and you're going to love the reason. It wasn't because she didn't do it, it wasn't because of a glitch from an attorney. No, it gets even better. Some asshole lied about having some Hollywood connection.
"In appealing her conviction before a three-judge panel of the 1st Court of Appeals, Yates' attorneys argued that a prosecution witness, Dr. Park Deitz, presented false testimony during her trial by stating that he had consulted on an episode of the NBC television show “Law & Order” in which a woman drowned her children and later was acquitted by reason of insanity," according to the story on MSNBC.com.
Who the fuck cares? How does this really make a difference to a jury? Seriously. Do you think that THIS small piece of information made a rat's ass of a difference in the minds of these jurors? I don't think so.
The defense attorney said:
"It's what turned this case around. It was such a bombshell. Clearly, the jury needed to know that what Dr. Dietz said was false."
Huh? I think this lawyer is hitting the crack pipe with Oliver Stone.

I tend to agree. While what that witness did was wrong, prosecute him for perjury. This is just going to cost the taxpayers money to re-prosecute this useless woman. God, I hope they don't release her on bail. She may get knocked up so she can kill another one.
