Boldly remembering
It doesn't seem like it has been two years since Columbia exploded over North Texas about 20 minutes from its return home to Cape Canaveral. But, as we approach the anniversary of the tragedy, efforts are underway for the next launch, perhaps as soon as May.
I'm excited about it. It has been a part of my life and I want to see the exploration continue.
NASA has an extensive website about all the aspects of it.

I bet space camp rocked. I would have loved that. My boys really love science and space stuff and always enjoy it when we visit NASA. We've been fortunate to go to both Kennedy Space Center and Johnson Space Center. My eldest saw a shuttle launch from his grandparents' home in Cocoa Beach and Army of Dad and I saw one from a cruise off Port Canaveral. It was pretty darn neat. AoD grew up in Cocoa Beach, so he has seen many shuttle launches - some from up close. So, this is pretty important to us.

Yeah including one pretty close that I wasn't supposed to see!
I got suspended for fighting the day before a shuttle launch. My mom and dad had a car pass to a close viewing point on Cape Canaveral. They didn't want to leave me home, but also didn't want to seem like they were rewarding my bad behavior. I got a lecture the whole way there and the whole way back.
If not for the suspension it would have been an excused absence since the local schools would let you out of school if you showed them the pass!

That's what you get for being a little turd. And, you wonder where Hot Rod gets his lack of sensitivity from ... hmmm .... let's keep thinking.
Hmm....

Don't start. I've heard of some of your exploits as well. You could be equally to blame!
