NFL round-up
Ok, first off, I found it completely hilarious that the main headline at SportsIllustrated.com was TO is irrelevant . Hee hee
Emmitt Smith is going to be retiring after all if you believe SI.
I have always liked Daunte Culpepper, but I hate it when people pretend to be something they're not. Evidently, he put on a show giving his bling-bling to a disabled kid, but as soon as the cameras were off, he took it back. However, in his defense, he apparently got the kid's address to send him something else, but why didn't he just do THAT in the first place? Man. And, maybe I'm being a little too judgmental because he doesn't owe this kid anything, but he could have just laughed off the kid without handing over his jewelry. *shrug*
I heard rumors on the sports talk radio that Emmitt and some investors were looking into buying the Vikings. Hmm.

Maybe Emmitt is just fantasizing about running behind that huge Viking O-line? I really hope not, we have capable backs and I don't want to see downgrade at that position. Besides the last ex-Cowboy running back we got didn't turn out that well for us!

Get loose from the house this evening. Tonight is Trivia night at Fry Street Tavern. We sucked last week, so we've got to regain our (geek) honor. Game starts at 8 p.m., but I think we may show up for the game at 7 as well.

Fry Street Tavern...trying to remember where exactly that is (I assume it is on/near Fry Street). Is that the one accross from Lucky Lou's, or is that TJs I'm thinking of?
I'll se what I can do.

I don't know the area that well. It's almost directly across the street from the "Something" Building at UNT. And it's actually not on Fry Street per se, but everybody refers to the whole area as Fry Street.

You should have been there. It was epic.
Out of about 10,000 bars in the country:
17th in the nation
7th in the nation
9th in the nation
We were unstopable. Redeamed our place as ubergeeks.

AoM,
Actually, from my hearing of the story, I think the Dante thing was a big misunderstanding. I don't think he ever meant to give the impression he was giving the kid the jewelry to keep. So, basically, Dante attempted a PR move and fumbled. Which, for him, just comes naturally.

I would have been, but I had to work late. Didn't leave work until almost 7. With those rankings I am flattered that you think I could have helped!
