Army of Mom

So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

Even sadder

Flowers sit on Baylee Almon's memorial chair in the Field of Empty Chairs at the Oklahoma City National Memorial Monday, April 18, 2005. Monday would have been her 11th birthday. She is the little girl in the Oklahoma City bombing photo being carried by the fireman.

There are more victims, too. The heroes who helped save lives. The people who carried out the dead. Little Brandon Denny who suffered severe brain injury in the explosion. He was just an infant at the time. An innocent little child whose only crime was that he was in the building. This will be a hard day.

I still cannot get that memory of Baylee Almon out of my head. That helpless firefighter caring for her shattered body was almost more than I could take...to this day I cannot look at that photo.

It is really odd because I am reading a book that catalogues legitimate research about the cover-up of a third Middle Eastern terrorist. Fox News recently ran a special on this very subject...Janet Reno appears to have screwed up another thing.

I watched the memorial service on Fox today and I must say that VP Cheney's speech was absolutely beautiful and faith-driven.

My coworker asked me why I was torturing myself this morning reading all about the anniversary.

Yeah, I was kinda wondering about that, too, the dwelling on it, I mean. Although the pictures of the chair monument stabs right through all the senses.
Today is my sister's birthday, so I try to look forward and be brighter for her. She was putting up party decorations the day it happened and she still feels guilty. She says birthdays will never be the same again.

One of my best friend's birthday is the 19th as well.

I vividly remember being happy that Pickle's birthday was 9-12 instead of 9-11. Our boys had a hard enough time with that as it was, they didn't need anything more to throw on top of it.

That reminds me that we forgot to call your buddy. *sigh* Hate it when I do that. It is also your lovely niece's birthday, too. Good thing I remembered!

I get fixated on certain things and have a hard time letting go. I may blog about that to explain it further.
