Race weekend
Race weekend is fast upon us. The Nascar Nextel Cup is this Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway and Army of Dad is going with one of his friends. He got the word today that his buddy has an extra ticket waiting for him. *sigh* Me? I get to stay home ALL day Sunday with youngsters. I can't even drive to Fort Worth because the traffic on I-35 will be a nightmare. So, we'll hang out here and play Candyland and blow bubbles.
But, I may have a new Nascar guy to cheer for courtesy of MindMatters.

Relax Cashin, your buddy may be driving in one soon enough. I am sure he will bring you along for the ride, so to speak.
Oh and the next time you want to go to one, just arrange a trip to Texas. I could rustle up some tickets if I had to and there is a gun range about a mile or two away from the track...

The place will be crazy, but last night I had to cover the Texas Motor Sports Hall of Fame banquet. I found myself talking to people like Kyle Petty, Terry Labonte, Michael Waltrip and Chad Hennings (yes...the old Cowboys player). It was a great meal...TMS always treats the media right! Today I have to cover the celebrity golf tournament...the only person I am interested in is Tony Dorsett.

That is cool Uzz. I'm so jealous of AoD. I've heard that you can't fully grasp the excitement of Nascar until you go to a race. He's even got seats in Turn 3 where all the excitement is. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
