The 4400 - our new obsession
Occasionally, Army of Dad and I will get totally enthralled by a television series and all else be damned. That happened today.
We saw the ads for The 4400 last year and it looked interesting, but it was never something we sought out to watch. Today, while flipping channels, AoD ran across a marathon of Season 1 counting down to the season opener this evening.
We were hooked instantly. It had intrigue, aliens, fairly compelling storylines and I figured out one of the best components of it all: one of my favorite Star Trek writers is writing for the show. I think that is one of the things that makes it great. Some of it is hokey, but most of it is really good.
We did manage to mow the lawn, clean out the garage, box up stuff to mail to my brother, two several loads of laundry and put them away, drop off stuff at Salvation Army, drive to the bank and Braum's and get gas for AoD's car and the lawn mower. Not too shabby. I didn't get most of my to-do list done, but some of it, so that was ok.
Back to work in the morning and I'm not looking forward to it. The next month is going to be crazy as we count down to the grand opening of our new terminal. I have been appointed to organize a symposium on accessibility for about 400 people and I'm totally scared and stoked at the same time. This will be a good opportunity for me to move into a new realm that I've never done before. It will increase my job skills and make me more versatile. But, I'm scared. Add to that, AoD leaves on a business trip this weekend - his birthday weekend, no less. It will be the first time since we've been together that we won't celebrate his birthday together. But, hopefully, he'll get to celebrate with his sister. His business trip is in her neck of the woods, so that is good.
I need to crash for the night. Light blogging this week as I get back into the routine of work.
