So wrong
Seldom do I have much sympathy for superstars, but this gal got screwed over royally. The author of the book that turned into a movie "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" was semi-autobiographical about the hot young man she picked up at a Jamaican resort. It was life-affirming, etc. to HER. After about six years of marriage, asshole guy reveals to her that he is gay. And, he WANTS her to support him and set aside a pre-nup. Please. Jerk. You knew you were gay when you married her. You deceived her all this time and you want her to maintain your lifestyle. No sir. No way. I hope the judge tosses this turd in the crapper.
But, Oprah is pissing me off and I usually like her. Aside from suing the beef industry, which was REALLY bad, I have always liked her. Till now. Oprah is whining because a store wouldn't let her in after hours to make a purchase. Yeah, it is considerate for employees to open up the store to let in a shopper if it is only five minutes after closing time and you still have customers in the store. But, no one HAS to let you in simply because you are OPRAH FREAKING WINFREY. Get over yourself. Wait till the next morning when the store opens and go buy your stupid jillion dollar watch then. Is it really going to kill you to wait overnight? She and others are whining that she wasn't let in because she's black. Ok, unless these people live under rocks, they KNOW you're Oprah. They just didn't give a rat's ass because they were ready to be off work and wanted to go home or they were working on their special event for the next day (as the company's statement said). Either way, I don't really care. I can remember working at a formalwear store during college and if I was feeling generous and had no other plans, yeah, I'd let someone come in as we were closing, but if I had a hot date, you can better believe that I was running people out as politely as possible at 9 p.m. on the dot. People have lives. Maybe someone needs to clue Oprah in to this. Money doesn't buy you EVERYTHING including time into a business after it closes. Period, end of story.

I've been telling everyone for years that Oprah is a sorry person...she has her little of army of converts and she is amazing at making herself seem so down-to-Earth when she would not give any of her viewers the time of day if she saw them on the street. I also don't like how she has been passing herself as this Christian-like person when she actually employs THE biggest New Age guru as her "Spiritual adviser"...she also props other New Age writers like Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson and James Redfield.
Here is a little bit of an exchange she had with a Christian on her show with several of her New Age peeps:
"On the recent show with new age panel Betty Eadie, Sophy Burnham, and Dannion Brinkley, Oprah positively alluded to the book Joshua by Ishmael, stating in summary, "..that one of the biggest mistakes humans make is to believe that there is only one way. Actually, there are many diverse paths leading to what you call God."
When corrected by a Christian in the audience that Jesus said He was the only Way, the panel lost their composure, coming unglued. Oprah reacted, "There couldn't possibly be only one way...Does God care about your heart or whether you called His Son Jesus?"
Oh well...enough of my Oprah rant...hopefully women will wise up to her one of these days. This little Parisian incident just shows how out of touch with regular people she really is!!!

I could say so many things about "Minorities being mistreated in stores" That I could quite literally type up an entire blog about it at my own site, but that's why this is called comments.
On a personal note I do happen to work in food services and believe you me, when the clocks strikes 9 the doors are locked. Just a few days ago in fact...
"Did you lock the doors because we're native american?"
Assfaces, I should have punched him in the face for being such an ignorant fuck. All I could do was apologize and point out that we close at 9, not a little bit after. To let one person in at 9 is to keep all the broilers and all the buffet's open for another hour while they eat, we need to close all these before we leave, to let someone come in after close is to stay another 2 hours.
Fuck that, The loss of their 10 bucks would be heavily outweighed by the 100 bucks lost in labor and burnt/wasted food. Fuck 'em, I have better things to do than to stuff their faces, so they can go home to their families in time for the news, while I have to tip-toe in to insure that no one is awake.
Congrats AoM I just went off on a bonofied Rant haha.
