It's official
I have another infection - or else the first one never healed. The wound the nurse checked yesterday burst forth today a nasty flow of icky infected pus-stuff.
I'm going to go bonkers if I have to go back in and have the catheter reinserted and do the IV drugs again. That doctor is going to get an earful from me about that because of the money, the time and the pain.

If you have to go through the catheter thing again, I would insist on not paying for it. They said you were healed and you weren't. And, it's their fault you got the infection in the first place.

and, LabKat, trust me. There are going to be some doctors curled up in the fetal position sucking their thumbs when I'm through with them!!!!

If you are not allergic to iodine, go to the store and get some Betadine lotion and squirt it directly into the wound (you'll want to be standing in the shower sans clothing at that point). This bug has obviously gotten somewhat resistant, and the Betadine is a good way to kick it in its little bug nuts.
It doesn't burn, I promise. It won't be any worse than letting shower water into the wound.

I'll give it a try. At this point, I'm willing to consult a witch doctor. Speaking of ... a voodoo doll or my doctor might be worth looking into as a motivation to get it right this time!
