Missing persons
The New Orleans newspaper has a missing persons list and this entry ripped my heart out:
11545. Looking for Chelsea Brown and Aamond Wright

Ages 4 and 1 - Last talked to on Saturday before the storm. Mother, Ququita, is safe in Baton Rouge and is looking for them. They were with their father, Charleston Brown, age 29. Charleston worked at a rental center.
OhmiGod. Can you imagine being this mother? God help her. I hope her husband has them safe and sound.

Actually, yes, I can imagine being this mother. The difference between us is that she has lost both children. (hopefully temporarily) To live without knowing is a horrific thing indeed.
