Knocking some sense into him
Wasn't there some song that went like "Whomp, upside the head, whomp upside the head?" Seems like I recall that. Maybe it was a football cheer, I cant' remember. I just know it came to mind after seeing this:

Apparently, Hot Rod was playing at recess right before school ended, ran and landed on his face on the grond. I had to pull some dirt out of the corner of his eye. Seems to be ok, just has a big scrape on the side of his face. Nurse gave him this ice pack, but holding it in place was preventing him from playing video games, so I devised the revolutary war-style bandage to hold the ice pack on. I just fixed it so the ice will stay on the wound better and he looks even goofier now. Poor kid.
I asked him what happened. His response "I don't remember."
The nurse's note reads:
Hot Rod fell down and bumped the right side of his head on the ground.

You can blame the Mom Curse for his explanations. (you know the one, where you mom says One day I hope you have a kids just like you!)
We would come home from a day of playing, or school or whatever with new bruises, scrape and cuts. Our standard (and truthful) reply to what happened was "I don't know."

I agree with AoD....karma works in such a fashion that whatever you do to your parents will be visited back upon you by your children.
Granted, this has been a bit unusual given that my "child" is a dog, but every time my parents are around, they pet him with a knowing glint in their eyes.....

No,
I remember the cheer from high school.
It was like
"Whoomp! up
"side ya' head
"say WHOOMP! up side ya' head"
Bleah!
Nostalgia gives me a headache

Definitely the mom curse comes into play here. He actually looks ok, just a few scrapes on the side of his head. He even went to karate Friday night and sparred with the headgear on and no problems. He's a tough kid.
And, yeah, he does look like Sir Albert Finney in that musical version "Scrooge."
And, Chad, no, I remembered this weekend. It was a football cheer we used to do. Can't believe I remembered it. Also, I'll address the Tracey Frame thing in a fresh post, fyi.
