Post-Hump Day Hodge-Podge

Spring break is here and between running Hot Rod to soccer camp and meeting deadlines for stories, I haven been wanting to blog, but haven't had time. Here ya go. Discuss.

Hat tip to Gadfly for the link to the Hobbit name generator. If I were a hobbit, my name would be Polly Boggy-Hillocks. Hmm, Polly Boggy-Hillocks Took. Mrs. Peregrin Took. I like it.

I was very sad to see that Maureen Stapleton died a few days ago. UPDATE: I had the wrong info here, was thinking it was Jean Stapleton. Thanks to anonymous for giving me good info.

Does anyone fall for those stupid email schemes where some foreign guy you've never heard of trusts YOU with his money? I mean, really. I get at least two of those a day and I wonder why they bother, but then I figure it must work on someone. My dad fell for the bank phishing scheme and gave his info out to someone before he told me about it and I informed him about the scam.

I think Women's History Month is a crock. We are part of history overall, we don't need our own month. Yeah, some guys get paid more than me because they have a dick. Giving me a history month doesn't make me feel any better about it.

I DO NOT WANT T.O. COMING TO PLAY FOR THE COWBOYS. AND, YES, I'M YELLING.

And, lastly, it appears my beloved Little Bit has pica. The strange little child likes to lick rocks, bricks, coins and metal fences and poles. She doesn't eat the stuff, but just puts it in her mouth and licks it. She has done this as long as she's been able to. I just figured she had an oral fixation (no smart remarks about the apple not falling far from the tree), but my mom urged me to call the doctor. So, I did. We're going in today for a blood test. The doctor wants to make sure she isn't anemic. Apparently, some kids do this when they lack iron.

And, a thanks to Mrs. Dof for the lovely crocheted cross for Pickle as a confirmation gift.

Maureen Stapleton was not in Edith Bunker. That was Jean Stapleton. Maureen was in Cocoon. She played Wilfred Brimley's wife. She was also in the movie Reds. Just had to clear that up.

Oh, thanks for that update ... I didn't look at any pictures and thought of Jean Stapleton. I hate to say that I'm glad it wasn't her because it is still sad for the other old gal.

Thanks for clearing that up. Going to fix my post now.

Aw, shucks, a link and everything!

Pickle is quite welcome for his gift. Such a big step he is taking deserves recognition.
