Bill Engvall will always be remembered for that classic. I hope he was on hand today to deliver it - in person - to one of the White House Press Corps.
President Bush was taking questions from reporters today about the secret trip to Iraq, Karl Rove, etc. When one of the bimbo reporters posed this question (I'm paraphrasing, but NOT changing what she said):
BIMBO: President Bush, Sen. Clinton had some criticisms about XYZ (not sure what she said, it was the next part that cracked me up). Sen. Kerry - who opposed you in the last election - had a similar comment. What is your response?
President Bush: Yes, I do recall running against Sen. Kerry.
Press Corps: *laughing as they eat their own*
Then, the President answered her stupid questions. But, it was so funny, I was laughing so hard that my son was asking me what the joke was. I tried to explain, but much of it was lost on the 11-year-old. You know, we all rag on Bush for the dumb things he says, but heck fire woman. I think he'll remember who he ran against.
Gees, I hate stupid reporters. Shh, don't tell anyone, but that is what I wanted to be when I grew up - a White House correspondent.

Well, had you become one I'm sure you could have posed that question more intelligently. I usually hate the press' tendency to 'eat their own,' but you can hardly blame them this time.

I have learned that all questions reporters ask are stupid.
BUSH is my man, "Thats my story and I'm sticking to it"!
Wish he was in Nam days.
