You can tell everybody, this is your song
It may be quite simple, but, now that its done, I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, that I put down in words. How wonderful life is with you in my world. - Elton John
Now THAT is a quality song for a couple to have.
The other day, my honey and I were watching TV when a commercial for the Adam Sandler flick pops up and he is rewinding back in time to find out what song is "their song" for him and his wife.
My husband and I have a brief epiphany at this point that we have no song. In March, we will have been married for nine years. We have two children, a mortgage and two car payments together. We share gold bands, bath towels and cooking duties, but we have no song.
So, we sort of shrugged and we both said *almost simultaneously* "That Nine Inch Nails song."
Yep, Closer is our song. Sort of warped, I know, but appropriate for us. We do think of each other when it comes on the radio and it is in our CD player in the bedroom.

Such a romantic song! What a fun family song to share with your kids! Ha! I can't wait to see their little faces when they ask what your song is :)
Gord and I don't have a song either. Alas, too bad "Closer" is taken ...

Mister and I had been married about 8 years when it came to us that we didn't have an "our song". There's one by Steely Dan which might come close, but I never heard that record until months after the wedding.
Then one evening, one of our sons asked a question.
I don't remember what it was about, but in unison, while fixing supper, in front of children, our own and two others, husband and I began singing _Strangers in the Night_.
We fell swooning into each other's arms, and finished with panache.
Let me tell you, there was much eye-rolling from the youngsters, and the son who first asked had regrets.
Ever since that night, we know what "our song" is.
