Don't look if you're eating
I will make the picture small, so maybe it will be less gross, but this is my poor tummy today. I had some post-op bleeding, so we had to change the dressings again and put another pressure bandage on two of the wounds. Where my bellybutton is (that is the lower bruise, it is so swollen that it is hard to tell)- that is where the gallbladder came out. I'm feeling better, overall. I'm not white as a sheet anymore and I have some appetite. I'm hoping this makes a world of difference in the way I feel, once I recover. I'm still very tired and my throat is extremely sore. I have a narrow throat passage, so intubating me is always hard for an anesthesiologist. So, typically, post-op I have lots of throat pain from where they scrape my throat. Thankfully, where the tooth is chipped is small and isn't painful.
So, there it is. Bland diet sucks, I have to say. But, I'm growing quite fond of my ice pack. It may be my best friend.
Sorry Cashin for the pics. My honey asked me why I'm doing this to my blog-readers and I know you people, you love it. :) I'm hoping I follow suit to Kelly's husband and lose 20 pounds. Kat wasn't kidding about the bloating, although I'm not as gassy as I thought I'd be. I am enjoying just lounging on the couch, having my husband cook for me and him take care of the kids. We're watching CSI: New York, season 1 on DVD. I borrowed it from some friends, so we're having a marathon. We're on about episode 10 or so. Pretty cool. I love Gary Sinese.

I had to click to enlarge that photo - what did they do to you! WOW! And the anestheologist should be shot! WOW!
Yes, DH noticed a few weeks after his gallbladder was removed that food just "ran" through him very quickly. Eventually, he regained all the weight. But for a while, he had little warning and all of a sudden he was in the bathroom!
Good luck!

Hello, I came across this on an internet search. Thank you for posting this. I had my gall bladder taken out a week ago and I have horrible bruising. I just went back to work today & all of my co-workers thought I should call my dr and ask him about the bruising. At least now, I know I'm not the only one!
