Emotional Rescue
Where are the Rolling Stones when I need them?
I've been on an emotional roller coaster for the past week or so. I am the stress queen. We have many MANY activities as the school year winds down and it just seems like everything is coming to a head. One of my best friends locally is moving to Oklahoma in a few weeks and that was totally unexpected. I've got the bills piling up as I have to pay for my surgery and we have lots of camps and fun stuff for the kids that will add up, too. Plus, my dear husband is taking a new job in a couple of weeks, so that is always scary. We'll have to adapt to getting paid twice a month instead of weekly. That is going to be scary.
I'm just at that point where everything makes me want to cry. I heard about a dishwasher recall this morning and wanted to cry. Gees Louise. But, whew, we dodged a bullet on that one. A whole line of GE dishwashers have been recalled. (of course, we bought ours in the time frame they were talking about and it is a Hotpoint). So, I had to go look it all up. Turns out that ours should be safe.
However, if you bought a dishwasher between 1997-2001, go check out your info and verify that yours is ok because these are catching on fire. I know there are times when I run the dishwasher overnight and go to bed or have it running when I'm leaving the house, so that is a bit scary.
I need some Alleve and a Diet Coke with Cherry or, oooh, even better, a peppermint mocha. Yeah, that may be what I need. Sorry for the light blogging. Lots of family stuff, work, kids activities.

hey, is Hotpoint GE? LOL, ours caught on fire about a year and a half ago. We went to Grapevine Mills Mall to the Sears outlet and bought a new few a decent price (it has a dent in it but who cares, it works pretty good).Figures they would recall them after ours has gone to the dump! Dion

Hotpoint is made by GE. I bet it is one of those recalled ones. If you still had it, you could enter your model number and serial number and it would let you know if it was part of it. That stinks.

Well, we are one of the reasons they are doing a recall. Our GE caught on fire, just about a year ago. Could have burned the house down, except hubby was home when it happened and yanked the electric. When I got home from work we dragged it out from under the cabinet and threw it into the back yard.
Took three weeks for our landlady to replace it, but she never once complained, she knew she could have been out a WHOLE HOUSE rather than just a dishwasher and a singed piece of formica.
Scary shit. I never leave the house with the dishwasher running, or go to bed with it running, or go downstairs to do laundry while it's running...
