The Not-So-Spooky-Halloween is fun but is an extra charge event as the Park closes at about 6pm and then re-opens from 7pm to midnight. The crowds are somewhat smaller than during normal extended park hours (for WDW resort guests only), so the lines are a bit shorter.
If you're going in costume, don't go for anything too elaborate or hot. Last year, Youngest was Batman, Oldest was Belle and I was Beast (for the last time, following a 6 year run, I learned this year. Oldest has outgrown being a Disney Princess...).
