I never knew this song was a remake of an old Thelma Houston song until I got a CD compilation of one-hit wonders today. I loved the song, but honestly, back in the 80s I never knew it was a guy singing most of it. Oops. Enjoy.

first off I spent my entire college years, well not all of them, but in a lot of them...in gay bars.
As my DH was then my Dear Boyfriend, and was in Desert Storm...and at Fort Bliss.
I spent a lot of my time dancing in gay bars with my "safe male friends"

I posted that one a while back, mostly to poke fun at Eric the Straight White Guy, 'cause he looks a bit like the lead singer.
There's something seriously wrong with that female singer... Bad posture caused by scoliosis and combat boots, maybe. Hard to say.
Finally... confession time! Somewhere in the garage tucked into a milk crate with my old vinyl LPs, I've got the 12" single version of that song. 15 minutes of falsetto dance goodness!
