British Soccer Camp, Day 2
This is Coach G. from outside of Cambridge. He is the coach we're hosting this week and he is also Hot Rod's group coach. They split the kids up by age. This coach is very sweet and very cute, I may add. :)
And another Coach G. He is too funny and very patient with these little ones. Little Bit was pissed off today. Her team was sucking some major ass. During the game, she looked up at me and yelled "No one is protecting the goal!" and then she ran back to play keeper.

Shortly thereafter, while I was turned around watching Hot Rod play, I heard crying. I recognized the sound of the maker of those tears and turn around to see this. I finally get over there and ask her what was wrong. "We were losing!" she wails pathetically. Seriously, my 5-year-old girl was crying because she was losing!
Here is Hot Rod, standing, being singled out on his team for his outstanding performance in a game. He scored the team's only goal. And, ohmigosh, tonight in his Golden Goal camp (its a bonus camp you can get in the evenings for $25 extra) he kicked ass even more. I am amazed at how much better he is now than he used to be. So much better. Remarkable. He was dominating the competitive drills with shooting and keeping, volleying, passing. Very good stuff. During another scrimmage, he actually scored from the ground!!! I can't even begin to give this goal justice. He settled a high rebound and then kicked it on a slide and it rebounded back to him while he was still on the ground. He couldn't get to his feet fast enough to shoot it again, so he (while lying on his left side, he took his right leg - while bent- and just slipped the ball out of the keeper's hands and into the goal!!!) The coach was flabbergasted as much as we were. Remarkable is all I can say. Damn is another exclamation that comes to mind, too. Very creative goal.
Here he is on the run during one of the Golden Goal drills. They had to shoot it from a pass on the run with one touch. Damn. His shooting was outstanding. I can't wait for Day 3.

Just an innocent question, sweetie:
Did you ask Little Bit to cry in order to get photo number 3 above?
Good for the children that they are doing so well and enjoying themselves. Good for you and AoD to encourage them the way you do.

I remember last year when Little Bit turned on the charm so her British coach would carry her off the field! She is adorable!
Love those coaches too!

Love those pictures! Little Bit is a charmer and what competitive spirit! That was an awsome description of the goal point made. Too bad you didn't have a video to post. He is quite an athlete.

I promise that I wasn't shooting the picture of his ass. It was just a happy accident.
And, Kelly, I can't believe you remember that. I found the pictures of that today. All I can say is that my daughter is a chip off the old block. :) Finding ways for good-looking men to console you and pick you up. LOL
And, I do wish I had a video of the goal. It was awesome!

Have I mentioned that soccer camp pictures rank pretty high on my list of the best things on your blog! (Your writing style and wit, of course, ranking just a little higher.)
